Purchasing Beads On The Internet: The Images Presented Often Mislead You
You know how you are sitting before the small screen, and you see a commercial for a burger, and it is the best thing you have ever seen? Then you visit the restaurant, and it doesn't appear anything like what was on TV. Not to mention it doesn't taste excellent, but it hardly looks the same. The same can be true when you buy beads online. Maybe your chances are high with the beads compared to the burger.
It is very common with beads, that the image you see on the web, is blown up, so that you can see color and detail better. On that point it is also lit for the picture with a lot of bright, lights set up to get a perfect lighting effect. Real life is often different than the commercial we are presented with.
Where size is concerned, that is a thing you learn with experience. I would recommend that keeping a ruler ready. Don't laugh, in America, though we are taught the metric system, it still isn't well known. Most, if not all beading measurements, are done in millimeters. Millimeters can seem very small if you aren't familiar with them, but a ring with a five millimeter setting in it can be pretty big on the wrong hand. Have the ruler on hand at first to help you quickly check it to get a better sense of size while you buy beads online. It might not be a bad idea to carry it with you, to measure beads in a store, so that you get a better idea of what five millimeters translates into in three dimensions.
Don't forget the lighting effects I pointed out either. A navy blue stone online might look just perfect for your project, but once at home, and in the regular lighting of your living room, it may be so dark as to look like black. Sparkle is the same way. Though it may be wonderful on the screen, it just might lose it's pizazz once it reaches your door.
I am not suggesting you not to buy beads online, quite the contrary. On line generally allows you to buy in bulk and reduced rates. But it will take some acclimation to getting your materials this way.
Exploring The Waters Of Bead Shopping On The Web: Some Significant Factors When you buy beads online, you run the risk of not getting exactly what you thought you would. Not to say that a company is trying to scan you, but they are going to present to you the best version of that item they have, and what you get may fall short of that.
